Devon House is more than just a culinary stop—it's a national heritage site and a treasure of Jamaican history. Built in the late 19th century, this grand mansion belonged to Jamaica’s first black millionaire, George Stiebel. Today, Devon House not only offers a glimpse into Jamaica's rich architectural history but is also a hotspot for food lovers. As you wander through its lush, green gardens, you’ll find a variety of eateries, each offering its own unique flavors. La Pizzeria is a crowd favorite, serving freshly baked pizzas with a Jamaican twist, perfect for enjoying in the outdoor seating area surrounded by Devon House’s historic charm. Our toppings were delicious ackee with callaloo and a wonderful vegetarian topping delight! And, of course, no visit is complete without stopping by the iconic Devon House I Scream shop for a scoop (or two!) of some of Jamaica's most beloved ice cream.

Gloria’s Seafood in Port Royal is a true gem for seafood lovers and a beloved spot among locals and visitors alike. Nestled in the historic town of Port Royal, once known as the "wickedest city on earth," Gloria’s brings a more laid-back, welcoming vibe today. It overlooks the scenic harbor, offering diners an authentic Jamaican experience alongside breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea. The menu boasts an array of freshly caught seafood, my favourite pick on the menu is lobster, escoveitch fish seasoned with traditional Jamaican spices and served with all the local favorites like bammy and festival! The relaxed ambiance and simple wooden tables give Gloria’s an unpretentious charm that makes you feel right at home. It’s a place where you can take your time, enjoy the views, and savor the unforgettable flavors of Jamaican cuisine.

I simple can't forget the divine taste and flavours from the seafood soup I had as my starter you can even take a refreshing swim in the clear coastal waters to round off your day. With the open-air setup and gentle sea breeze, Sharkie’s offers an ideal setting to unwind and indulge in the true essence of Jamaican cuisine.

The menu is filled with Jamaican classics, on our most recent visit we choose the escoveitch fish sandwich for us a standout choice, offering a perfect blend of tangy pickled veggies and seasoned fish on a fresh bun and with garnished with a side of coleslaw. I paired my meal with a scrumptious strawberry dacquiri and Appleton Rum. Whether you’re enjoying reggae beats in the background or watching live sports on the big screens, the lively atmosphere at Tracks & Records makes it a perfect spot to enjoy Jamaican food with friends and family, perfect for every occasion from weekend or evening drinks with friends to birthday celebrations!

Fishermen bring in their daily catches, ranging from snapper and parrotfish to lobster and crab, giving visitors the rare opportunity to enjoy seafood that’s fresh off the boat. Here, the seafood is cooked simply, often grilled or fried, allowing the natural flavors to shine, our fish was brown stew and of course escoveitch fish, with an array of side orders, rice and peas, fried plantain and salad to garnish our meals —perfect for those who want to taste the unembellished goodness of the Caribbean. You can take a refreshing and vibrant swim in the clear coastal waters watching the cruise ships sail and dock in the village.

For a creative fusion one day for lunch I picked the Jamaican-inspired fish and chips, served with a tangy tartar sauce that adds a bit of British flair to this Caribbean staple. Every dish is crafted with care, capturing the essence of Jamaican flavors. Take a refreshing dip in the cliffside pool overlooking the Caribbean Sea either before or after your delicious breakfast, lunch, or even dinner. It’s the perfect way to unwind, enjoying the breathtaking ocean views and making the most of a day in paradise.

Her dedication to health-conscious food shines through, and I especially appreciate the welcoming menu that greets you as you arrive, making it easy to decide exactly what you’re craving. For my meal, I opted for the high-protein Singapore noodles—a flavorful dish that’s both nourishing and satisfying. Packed with protein, this dish is ideal for anyone looking to enjoy a balanced, plant-based meal that fuels the body. I paired it with a fresh juice (I think it was carrot juice!). Not only refreshing, but carrot juice is also packed with beta-carotene, an antioxidant that supports eye health and boosts immunity—a perfect addition to a nutritious meal. Honestly, I could eat here every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner—Kamila’s Kitchen has quickly become a favorite of mine for its vibrant flavors and feel-good dining experience and simple because….
